Terms of Service
Last updated 29 August 2026 · applies to the hosted BNLGit public beta
1. Who we are
The BNLGit hosted service is operated by Blue Note Logic Inc ("we", "us"), 117 N Swain Street, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601. Contact: hello@bnlgit.com.
By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. What the service is
BNLGit is a hosted Git service built on the open-source Gitea project, with additional features for generating and retrieving AI-readable summaries of your repositories. What those features do, and what they do not do, is described in our public documentation, which forms part of your understanding of the service.
BNLGit is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Gitea Ltd.
3. Beta status
The service is offered as a public beta on shared infrastructure. That means:
- We do not offer a service level agreement or an uptime guarantee.
- Features may change, and a feature may be withdrawn if it does not work as intended.
- Capacity is shared between customers.
You should keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Everything of substance in
BNLGit is a Git repository, so git clone is a complete backup.
4. Accounts
Self-service registration is disabled. Accounts are created only through our checkout process. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and API tokens, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@bnlgit.com if you believe an account has been compromised.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.
5. Fees, trial and card on file
The trial
New accounts begin a 14-day free trial. A valid payment method is required at signup. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your payment method is automatically charged the fee for the plan you selected at the end of the trial, and monthly thereafter until you cancel. Plan fees are $12 (Solo), $29 (Team) and $59 (Growth) per month; prices in US dollars. The exact amount and the exact date of your first charge are stated to you at signup and repeated in your welcome email.
Metered usage
Your plan fee grants a monthly allowance of credits. Repositories and stored data consume that allowance at the rates published on our pricing page. If the allowance is exhausted, your workspace becomes read-only until it is replenished; we do not charge you beyond your plan fee without you first purchasing additional credits.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Any tax that applies in your jurisdiction is calculated and shown at checkout before you confirm.
Model usage is not included
BNLGit is bring-your-own-key. Summary generation and related features consume your own LLM provider account under your own agreement with that provider. We do not resell, mark up or bill you for model usage, and we are not responsible for your provider's charges. See spend controls.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, your account moves to a past-due state and you retain full access for a grace period of 7 days while you correct it. If it is not corrected in that window, sign-in may be suspended. Suspension restricts access; it does not delete repositories.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time from your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, and we do not pro-rate part-months. If the service does not do what our documentation says it does, contact us and we will refund you.
6. Your content
You keep all rights in the code, text and other material you put into BNLGit. We claim no ownership of it.
You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the service for you: to store, transmit, index and process your content in order to provide the features you use, and to transmit the relevant parts of it to the third-party LLM provider you have configured, when you ask for a summary, analysis or bake-off.
We do not use your content to train models, and we do not share it with third parties other than the provider you have connected and the infrastructure providers needed to run the service.
Summaries generated from your content are stored in a Git repository in your account and are yours on the same terms as the rest of your content.
7. Third-party AI providers
When you connect a provider key and request generation, your content is sent to that provider, and their terms and privacy policy apply to that processing. We are not responsible for their availability, output quality, pricing or data practices. Choosing a provider — and deciding whether sending a particular repository to it is appropriate — is your decision.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use BNLGit to:
- store or distribute unlawful material, malware, or content you have no right to;
- infringe someone else's intellectual property or privacy;
- attempt to access another customer's data, or to circumvent access controls, rate limits or spend controls;
- probe, scan or attack our infrastructure, other than good-faith security research reported to us under section 12;
- use the service to send unsolicited messages, mine cryptocurrency, or run workloads unrelated to hosting and analysing your own code;
- resell or provide the service to third parties as your own.
Automated use through the API and MCP endpoints is expected and welcome, within the documented rate and spend limits.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for non-payment after the grace period, for a material breach of these terms, or where continued operation would put other customers or our infrastructure at risk. Where circumstances allow we will contact you first and give you an opportunity to put it right.
You may terminate at any time by cancelling.
10. Data retention and deletion
After cancellation or termination we retain your data for 30 days so that you can export it, and then remove it. Deletion is confirmed by a person before it runs rather than fired automatically. Backups are cycled out on their own schedule shortly afterwards.
You can export at any time by cloning your repositories — there is no export request to file.
11. Availability and disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Summaries and analyses are generated by language models and can be wrong. They are a derived artefact; your source code is always authoritative. BNLGit deliberately returns the backing source alongside every summary so that you can verify it. You must not rely on a generated summary, cleanup proposal or search result as a substitute for reviewing the code itself, and you remain responsible for anything you merge, delete or deploy.
12. Security reports
Report suspected vulnerabilities to hello@bnlgit.com with "security" in the subject. Please give us a reasonable opportunity to fix an issue before disclosing it publicly. We will not pursue good-faith research conducted under those conditions and limited to your own account.
13. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of or corruption of data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits reflect that this is a low-cost beta service and that you retain your own copies of your repositories.
14. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give you reasonable notice by email before it takes effect, and you may cancel if you do not accept it. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
We may change pricing for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email. Your current period is never repriced.
15. Consumers
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA rather than a business, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Because the service is made available to you immediately, by starting your trial you ask us to begin performance during that period. Your statutory rights are not otherwise affected by anything in these terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA, and the courts of Wyoming, USA have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory protection available to you as a consumer in your country of residence.
